Social Services Home

The Schoharie County Department of Social Services offers a variety of services to residents of Schoharie County in an effort to meet the diverse needs of its client population.

It is our mission to:

• Provide temporary assistance and the necessary skills for families and individuals to become self-sufficient and thereby break the bonds of dependency.
• To protect individuals and families against abuse and exploitation.
• To promote parental responsibility.

These objective are accomplished in a compassionate, professional, and responsible manner with the utmost efficiency and cost effectiveness with full awareness of the assistance and service needs of our consumers, public-at-large, Schoharie County Board of Supervisors; and state and federal oversight agencies.
