LEGAL SERVICES

Legal assistance is provided through a referral from the Office for the Aging. The client must be a resident of Schoharie County, and aged 60 years or older. The services include, but are not limited to: Legal Advice; Representation, and Appropriate Referral to elder citizens concerning: Entitlements, Support of Patient Rights, Landlord/Tenant Issues, health Insurance Claims and Consumer Protection Concerns. A referral to other sources of legal assistance may be provided on the basis of need or eligibility.

There is no fee for legal assistance, but donations are encouraged so that the program can be expanded and services provided to all older persons who have need of them.
