The purpose of the Emergency Management Office (EMO) is to ensure coordinated programs and operational capabilities to save lives and protect property through mitigation, preparation for, response to, and recovery from all emergencies and disasters.  The EMO provides coordination for E-911.  The Civil Defense function is mandated.  This department also provides special printing services for the county .

Mitigation programs or accident/injury prevention programs designed to reduce the consequences of emergencies.

Planning for emergency/disaster situations, including the development of emergency plans and procedures, drills and exercises to evaluate response capabilities.

Response to emergencies/disaster to coordinate the most effective use of manpower and resources in the saving of lives and reduction of property losses.

Recovery from emergency/disasters to return the community to its pre-disaster condition including administration of assistance programs.
