Welcome to the Schoharie County Clerk's Office web page. The County Clerk's Office is located
on the 1st floor of the County Office Building at 284 Main Street Schoharie, NY 12157.
The County Clerk's Office and the Department of Motor Vehicles are open until 7:00 PM every Wednesday evening.
County Clerk, Indy Jaycox, is pleased to announce that we are now accepting Visa, MasterCard, and Discover
credit/debit cards for all transactions. There is a site fee of 3% with a minimum $2.00 for all charges.
Dear Attorneys, Title Abstract Companies and the general public,
Effective August 1st, 2016 :
In an on-going effort to maintain the security of our County’s vital databases and programs, the Schoharie
County IT Department will be using a second, secure database with a one (1) Day viewing delay for our on-line,
web-based County Clerk Search program. This only affects the on-line viewing capabilities from your home or
office computers. If you come into the County Clerk’s Office and use the public computers, the information
will be available to view as soon as it is recorded or filed and scanned into the system.
Generally speaking, if a document is recorded at 9:00am on Monday, it will be viewable on Tuesday morning.
If a document is recorded at 4:00pm on Monday it will be viewable on Tuesday morning as well. Please keep
in mind that as with all documents, they are only viewable as quickly as our scanning staff can get them scanned.
Our Office prides itself on our consistently quick turn-around time for all documents filed or recorded.

Dear Schoharie County Resident:
As a citizen of Schoharie County, it is very likely that an important personal transaction will take place for
you at the County Clerk's Office at some point in time.
In recent years, as many as 60,000 transactions have been processed in the local
Department of Motor Vehicles. Nearly 15,000 documents of all variety are filed and recorded
annually in the County Clerk's Office. Countless documents are indexed and stored in the
Records Management Office. The recording of Court records is also the legal responsibility
of this office.
To acquaint you with most of the services and functions of this office, we have
included information within this site, which we hope you will find helpful.
Feel free to stop by our office or phone us for a prompt and courteous response
to any questions you may have.
As employees of Schoharie County taxpayers, we are dedicated to the service
of filing and protecting legal documents and issuing drivers licenses and registrations
